Summer Blooms and a Free Hour.
I’ve been out in the front garden at The Claremont a lot this week, trying my best to keep things tidy. Now that the hanging baskets have had a couple of weeks to settle in, they are requiring a bit more regular attention. I’ve spent a few quiet pockets of time deadheading the trailing petunias and geraniums to encourage more flowers, giving them a good feed, and trying to keep the edges looking crisp ahead of our summer check-ins.
It’s steady, satisfying work, and anyone who knows me knows how much I love gardening. It’s always been my favourite way to clear my head.
Because of that, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can steal a brief window of time this afternoon. The Shepherd Road allotment site is opening its gates to visitors today, but they close at 3pm. If I can manage to find a free minute in the next hour I would love to head round there. There is something so inspiring about seeing what other local growers are doing with their plots.
Right, I'd better get cracking if I want to stand any chance of slipping away!
Until next time,
The Fylde Hotelier
