Welcome to My Blog: The Fylde Hotelier

Hello and welcome! 👋

I’m The Fylde Hotelier, living and working right here on the Fylde Coast. I run a small guesthouse in St Annes called The Claremont, and over the years I’ve come to know all the little gems, hidden spots, and local favourites that make this area so special.

I started this blog because I love sharing insider tips, the kind of things I’d tell a friend if they were visiting for the first time. From cosy cafes and quirky shops, to scenic walks and seasonal events, I want you to discover the Fylde Coast like a local.

What This Blog Is About

If you’ve ever wondered:

  • Where to find a peaceful beach walk away from the crowds
  • Which cafés are worth stopping at for a coffee
  • Hidden shops or streets in St Annes and Lytham that most visitors miss

…then you’re in the right place.

This blog is all about sharing the insider side of the Fylde Coast, from someone who lives here and sees it every day. Think of me as your local guide, pointing out the best spots and little secrets to make your visit special.

A Bit About Me

Running a guesthouse gives me a front-row seat to what makes this coast so special. Some mornings, I’m up early making breakfast and making sure everything’s ready for our guests. Other days, I’m out in the garden, planting flowers or tidying paths, or giving the rooms a little refresh so The Claremont feels cosy and welcoming.

It’s these small, hands-on moments, the daily routines, the surprises, and even the occasional little mishap that make life as a hotelier so rewarding. Over the years, I’ve picked up tips and tricks about the area, the people, and what life’s really like on the Fylde Coast, and I love sharing them with anyone who wants a local perspective.

Many guests at The Claremont tell me these little insights make their stay feel extra special, and now I want to share them with all of you.

What to Expect

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing posts like:
  • A day in the life of a hotelier on the Fylde Coast
  • Hidden cafés and local shops you won’t find in a guidebook 🛍️
  • Weekend walks along the seafront and beyond 🚶‍♀️
  • Seasonal events and local experiences you won’t want to miss
All from the perspective of someone who lives, works, and loves the Fylde Coast.

I can’t wait to show you around, and hopefully welcome you at my little guesthouse sometime soon.

Until next time,

The Fylde Hotelier
