About The Fylde Hotelier

Welcome to my corner of the coast! 🌊

I’m the Fylde Hotelier. A few years ago, in my early twenties, I took an unexpected leap into the world of hospitality by taking over The Claremont, a guesthouse in the heart of St Annes on the Sea.

While many people my age were looking for corporate roles, I found myself drawn to the charm of the Fylde Coast and the rewarding challenge of running an independent business. My days are spent behind the scenes, tending to the front garden, perfecting the breakfast service, and ensuring the house feels like a genuine home-away-from-home for every visitor.

An Insider’s Perspective

Being a hotelier gives me a unique vantage point on life in St Annes. I see the town through the eyes of our guests, but I know it with the depth of someone who works here every single day. I’ve spent my time uncovering the quietest beach walks, the most authentic local cafes, and the hidden shops that you won't find in any tourist brochure.

I started this blog to share that "insider" knowledge with you.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog is my "Saturday Diary"—a collection of stories, local discoveries, and a look at life behind the scenes of an independent guesthouse. I’ll be sharing:

  • Hidden Gems: The best-kept secrets of St Annes and Lytham.

  • The Hotelier Life: The reality of running a guesthouse, from the satisfaction of a "work-in-progress" garden to the small details that make a stay memorable.

  • Local Favourites: Personal recommendations for the spots that truly capture the spirit of the coast.

A Local Welcome

Hospitality isn't just about a room; it’s about being a gateway to the town. I believe the best travel memories come from the small, local moments—discovering a quirky side street or finding the perfect spot to watch the tide come in.

I hope these posts help you see the Fylde Coast through my eyes and discover the endless charm of our beautiful town.
