June on the Fylde Coast: Summer Starts to Bloom.
There is a transformation that happens in St Annes once June arrives. Those quiet, dewy mornings I mentioned back in May have been replaced by a bright, golden energy that seems to start the moment the sun comes up.
The promenade is truly in its element now. While we haven't quite reached the peak "all-hands-on-deck" rush of July, the town has definitely found its summer rhythm. Between the families heading down to the pier and the kite flyers taking advantage of the breeze by the sand dunes, there is a lovely "hum" of activity. Even the sea air feels different, warmer, carrying the scent of salt and the first ice creams of the season.
It’s an energizing time of year for a hotelier. My days are usually a blur of activity this month, but I always enjoy those brief moments when I’m passing through the hallway at The Claremont just as a guest is returning from their day’s adventures.
You can always tell who has had a good day by that first "hello" at the door, usually they are a bit sun-kissed, a little tired from the salt air, and eager to tell me about a shop they found or the spectacular sunset they caught the night before.
While the town is bustling, it hasn't reached its busiest point yet, which makes it my favorite time to encourage people to explore. Whether it’s watching the tide roll in or seeing the flowerbeds in full bloom near the Square, June is the perfect time to enjoy the Fylde Coast at its most welcoming.
Until next time,
The Fylde Hotelier
