The Scent of Fresh Toast and Early Mornings.

There’s a certain sound to The Claremont at 8:00 AM. It’s the gentle hum of the fridge, the click of the toaster, and the quiet whoosh of the kettle. Before the first guest wanders down the stairs, the breakfast room is my kingdom.

This morning, as I was setting out the breakfast bar, I glanced out of the window and saw that familiar dewy St Annes morning settled over the front garden. There’s a certain stillness in the air when the grass is still wet and the town is just starting to blink awake.

It reminded me how each morning has its own rhythm. A quiet start getting everything ready, followed by that gentle moment when the breakfast room begins to come to life. By the time guests wander down, everything is in place, and the day can begin at its own easy pace.

As I laid out the bowls and adjusted the preserves, I realised I don’t mind the early starts when the view is this peaceful. My goal is always that by the time the guests wander down, the "work" is invisible, and all they see is a fresh start to their day on the coast.

The garden looks lovely in this light, it’s the quietest The Claremont will be all day. Now, time to get the coffee brewing before the day begins.

Until next time,

The Fylde Hotelier
