Mid-Summer Bedding and Lawn Progress at The Claremont.

Today we planted out the summer bedding in the front garden at The Claremont, and it feels so satisfying to finally see it all in the ground. We have put down a vibrant mix of petunias, pansies, snapdragons, marigolds, busy lizzies, begonias, and geraniums. In total, we’ve added over 60 plants to the front garden bedding today, so it is going to look incredibly lush and colourful once everything fills out.

It took us quite a few hours to finish the job. Before any planting could even begin, we had to spend some serious time cleaning up all the weeds to make proper space for the new bedding plants. While we were out there, we also re-scarified the lawn to get rid of the last remaining bits of moss. It’s been a stubborn job, so I’m really hoping I won't find any more after this! For now, I’m going to wait for the new bedding plants to settle in properly before I start focusing heavily on the lawn care again.

When it came to the layout, I made sure to layer the heights carefully to get the best view from the pavement. I placed the larger bedding plants, like the snapdragons, right at the back of the borders, and tucked the tiny violas right down at the front.

Tucked away (for now), my tomato plants grown from seed are doing really well too. They are thriving, and looking at them today, I think I might even make some space for a few of them out in the front garden at The Claremont later in the season.

There is still plenty to do, but standing back to look at those 60+ new plants in the sunshine makes all the hard work worth it.
