Golf Championship "Moving Day" in St Annes.

It has been an incredibly busy round of breakfast this morning, but everyone is now fully prepped and fueled for a wonderful day out on the golf course. The excitement around the house has been building up all morning. Today is "Moving Day", the crucial third round of the AIG Women’s Open over at Royal Lytham & St Annes, and you can absolutely feel the buzz in the air. On my side of things, this is peak St Annes. As the calendar page turns to August, the town is officially at its very best. The streets are alive, the atmosphere is fantastic, and there is nothing quite like seeing the area thriving under the international spotlight. Right, the rooms are all turned over and ready for the afternoon arrivals, so it’s time to get myself sorted for the next wave of check-ins. Until next time, The Fylde Hotelier

The First Hello at The Claremont St Annes.

People often ask me what the "typical" check-in looks like at The Claremont St Annes. The truth is, there’s nothing typical about it. You won’t find a cold reception desk here; instead, I’ll be there to greet you in the hallway, much like welcoming a friend through your own front door.

There’s something much more genuine about meeting guests in the heart of the house. It’s where the first "holiday exhale" happens, that moment when the bags are dropped, the keys are handed over, and the conversation turns from travel times to the best places to see in St Annes.

Lately, those hallway greetings have been a real highlight for me. Whether it’s helping a regular guest settle back into their favorite room or pointing a newcomer toward the seafront for their first sunset of the trip, that initial connection is what makes this job so special.

It’s about making sure that from the moment you step through the door, you feel less like a reservation number and more like a guest in a well-loved coastal home.

The house is full of life, and the hallway is rarely quiet for long. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
